LOCATION: This will be a point to point hike of very popular eastern sections along Falls Lake, starting at Falls Lake Dam and ending at the end of section 2 on Possum Track Road.
TIME: Meet at 9 am on Sunday, September 8th
HIKE DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful, heavily wooded section of the trail crossing many small feeder streams and passing right by the water's edge of Falls Lake in many places. The trail is a rolling, natural surface single track trail. Hikers should wear sturdy hiking shoes/boots and hiking poles as well if they choose. Make sure you bring snacks and plenty of water or sports drink for hydration!
LENGTH OF HIKE: 6 Miles.
DIFFICULTY: Moderate
MEETING LOCATION: Falls Lake Visitor Assistance Center, 11405 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, NC 27614. Not the lot right along the road, but follow the paved road towards the Dam and turn off to your left. (Hike leader will be in White Honda Pilot).
