Accreditation Information for Physicians

For RCPSC (Maincert Section 1): This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by Continuing Professional Development, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. You may claim a maximum of 2.75 hours (credits automatically calculated).

CFPC (Mainpro+ Certification): This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by Continuing Professional Development, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University for up to 2.75 Mainpro+ credits.

Behavioral Phenotypes in Genetic Disorders Associated with Developmental Delay

Presented by: Dr. Victoria Siu

This workshop will focus on specific genetic disorders associated with developmental delay and unique or characteristic behaviours.  Videos will be shown to assist in the recognition of these patterns of behaviour.  Appropriate genetic tests to confirm diagnoses will be outlined.
  • Describe the clinical and behavioral features associated with each syndrome
  • Identify the specific test(s) indicated to confirm the diagnosis
  • List management strategies to improve quality of life for the child and caregiver  

About Dr. Victoria Siu

 

 

Dr. Victoria Mok Siu is a medical geneticist and pediatrician who did her fellowship training at SickKids in Toronto and Children's Hospital in London, Ontario.  She has had a longstanding interest in the etiology of development disorders and was a consultant at CPRI for many years before taking a full-time position at London Health Sciences Centre.  She is currently the Medical Director of the Genetics Program of Southwestern Ontario.
