The Distance Education Captioning and Transcription (DECT) Grant: Want to ensure that your instructor’s videos are accessible to all students with captions? Learn about the DECT grant. Thanks to the statewide Chancellor’s Office, DECT may be able to cover the costs of captioning for you.
9:50 - 10:20 a.m.
CCC TechConnect Accessibility Support: Join us for this 30-minute session and discover the types of accessibility support available through CCC TechConnect. We'll take you through our Zoom product to cover available transcription services for your online meetings, best practices, and touch on how to change accessibility settings. For our Cloud product we'll review post-event transcription services - what is offered, how to use, and what the requirements are. Please bring your questions! We'll leave time at the end for Q&A.

Captioning Beyond Accommodations: This session will explore the wide array of benefits of captioning in higher education well beyond mandatory accommodations compliance, including but not limited to: Higher retention rates, meeting the legal guidelines, enhanced public relations, providing Universal Design for Learning. You will also be provided with resources to provide this most valuable tool in your content.

Captions, Subtitles & Transcripts: COVID distance learning required additional resources to make course content available to students who are deaf or with partial hearing loss. Learn more about the differences of each and resources for making multimedia more accessible.

Fresno City College's Journey to PDF Form Accessibility: In Fall 2020, Fresno City College began a project to make sure all electronic forms were Section 508-compliant. This led the college to create an accessibility training program for its employees. Join the team from Fresno City to discover how they started, what they did, and where they are now.

Equidox vs Adobe Acrobat: Equidox is a web-based tool to assist in the remediation of PDFs. This session will provide an overview of its key features in comparison to Adobe Acrobat.
3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
eReading Battle Royale: What’s the difference between ePub and PDF? What software works with ePub? This session will compare eReading software features and usability with ePubs and PDFs, and cover ClaroRead, Read & Write, Kurzweil, and CaptiVoice.
