Anti-Semitism and Hate: A Talk for this Moment

Anti-Semitism and other forms of hate are on the rise.  The Anti-Defamation League’s Never is Now Summit in November provided a real time national and international account of this growth as well as what is needed in this moment to fight it.  From a local perspective where incidents are taking place in schools, workplaces and communities, to the Summit take aways for responding to anti-Semitism and other forms of hate, join us as we understand and discuss approaches to counter this new reality.

Jody Miller is the Dutchess County Human Rights/EEO Officer.  She is the Chair of the Commission on Human Rights, a 15-member Commission with the mission, Defending Human Rights, Bridging Differences Embracing Diversity.  She is the co-founder of the 100 Cups of Coffee Transformative Dialogue Project.  As the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer, she is responsible for discrimination compliance, training and investigation, American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations for employees and the 55-a program.  Prior to her current role she was the executive director of a community mediation center and worked closely with courts, businesses, schools and the community to develop mediation programs and provide conflict resolution training. 

Jody has been a presenter at conferences throughout the United States as well as in Italy, China and the Netherlands.  She is the 2016 recipient of the Lawrence Cooke Peace Innovator Award from the New York State Dispute Resolution Association.
