The Southern California Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) is pleased to present its sixth annual student-professional dinner discussion in partnership with the University of La Verne - College of Public and Business Management. This event is generously sponsored by Randall W. Lewis, Executive Vice President of the Lewis Group of Companies.
Join us for an informal evening of discussion about Leadership, Public Service and other interesting topics with County of Riverside Director of Transportation and Land Management, Juan Perez. This is a unique opportunity to meet other professionals, students and academics in the field of public administration as well as meet our special guest in an informal setting. The evening includes a hosted wine and beer reception and a hearty full buffet dinner.
Juan Perez
Juan was promoted to Director of Transportation and Land Management Agency in May 2012. He has been with the County of Riverside for 15 years. The Agency has over 550 employees and oversees the Transportation, Planning, Code Enforcement, and Building and Safety functions for the unincorporated County.
The Transportation Department oversees the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the 2,200 mile roadway system in the unincorporated County, managing an Operations budget of over $47 Million and a Capital Project budget of over $125 Million annually. Juan received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona in 1989, and is a Registered Civil and a Registred Traffic Engineer in the State of California. Juan also received his Master Degree in Education Leadership and Organizational Studies from Cal Baptist University in 1994.
He started his career in teh private sector with various consulting firms providing municipal transportation services. Prior to coming to the County, Juan was employed by the City of Hemet for nine years, including the last four as the City's Director of Public Works.
