Keynote Speaker: General Michael V. Hayden

Michael V. Hayden

As Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, General Hayden was responsible for overseeing the collection of information concerning the plans, intentions and capabilities of America’s adversaries; producing timely analysis for decision makers; and conducting covert operations to thwart terrorists and other enemies of the US. At Chertoff Group, General Hayden uses his broad geographic and political knowledge to brief clients on intelligence matters worldwide – including developments in cybersecurity – that may affect their businesses.

Before becoming Director of the CIA, General Hayden served as the country’s first Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence – and was the highest-ranking intelligence office in the armed forces. Earlier, he served as Commander of the Air Intelligence Agency, Director of the Joint Command and Control Warfare Center, Director of the National Security Agency and Chief of the Central Security Service.

Steve joined Solera Networks in early 2007 from Oracle, where he was responsible for record growth of critical business segments. In 2005, Steve was named Top Account Executive as a result of his dedication to expanding broad new product adoption within marquis customers. Prior to joining Oracle, Steve held several management, operational and sales positions at Novell, focusing on networking and security solutions within Fortune 500 enterprises.

Kevin MandiaMandiantKevin Mandia, CEO, Mandiant
Mr. Mandia is the founder and chief executive officer of Mandiant. He has spent more than 20 years in information security, and has been on the front-lines helping organizations respond to computer security breaches for nearly 15 years. Prior to Mandiant, Kevin served in the United States Air Force as a computer security officer at the Pentagon and later as a special agent in the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), where he worked as a cybercrime investigator. In the private sector, Kevin served as a director in the security consulting divisions of Sytex (Lockheed Martin) and Foundstone (McAfee). Kevin has co-authored two books on responding to security breaches, “Incident Response: Performing Computer Forensics” and “Incident Response: Investigating Computer Crime.” He provides regular commentary and analysis on cybersecurity issues for national print and broadcast media. Mr. Mandia has also developed specialized cybersecurity curricula for organizations including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Attorney’s Office, United States Secret Service, the United States Air Force and other U.S. government agencies.

Bill Connor

EntrustBill Conner, CEO and President, Entrust
Mr. Conner is a corporate turn-around and cybersecurity expert with over 25 years experience across numerous high-tech industries. Part of an ongoing effort, Bill is a leader in the push to elevate information security to a corporate governance issue and fashion a public-private partnership to protect America's critical infrastructure. He launched and co-chaired the Business Software Alliance Information Security Governance Task Force, which released an informative security management framework for the industry. He was a driving force behind the EastWest Institute Worldwide Security Forum, which hosts an international dialogue on security innovation and thought leadership. He also co-chaired the Corporate Governance Task Force of the National Cyber Security Partnership. In addition, Mr. Conner received the Federal 100 award, which is bestowed to the top 100 individuals and organizations impacting the U.S. government.

Art Gilliland

HPArt Gilliland, Senior Vice President, HP Software Enterprise Security Products, Hewlett-Packard Company
Mr. Gilliland serves as senior vice president of HP Software Enterprise Security Products (ESP). In this role, he leads efforts to maximize opportunities for selling security solutions and services across HP’s vast product portfolio and helps enterprise customers manage risk and compliance requirements. A 15-year veteran of the enterprise security industry, Art joined HP from Symantec, where he served as senior vice president of the Information Security Group. During his time at Symantec, Mr. Gilliland was responsible for security solutions product engineering and management as well as strategy, planning, field enablement, industry relations and operations. Recognized as an information security expert, he holds several key patents in security and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). 

Brian WhiteChertoff GroupBrian White, Managing Director and Chief Strategy Officer, The Chertoff Group (Moderator)
Mr. White leads the West Coast office for the Chertoff Group, focusing primarily on cyber security and innovative technology. Mr. White joined the Chertoff Group from Lockheed Martin, where he was a Senior Manager in the Electronics System business. Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Mr. White was a senior official at the Department of Homeland Security, serving in numerous capacities. As a Senior Counselor to the Deputy Secretary, Brian was involved in all policy and operational issues at the Department, including the development and execution of the Comprehensive National Cyber Initiative. Mr. White also served as Chief of Staff of the Policy Office as well as served as the Director of Maritime, Trade, and Cargo Security. Brian currently serves as a Senior Associate with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS); a practice associate at the Institute of National Security and Counterterrorism (INSCT) at Syracuse University; a guest lecturer at the Naval Postgraduate School; and frequent speaker on cyber security issues.
