From Start to (Un)Finished; A Look Back at Suffrage History

Kick off the 2020 women’s suffrage centennial year at the Woodrow Wilson House with the first of a year long slate of programs and experiences to commemorate 100 years since women won the vote.

On Thursday, February 20th, learn about the origins of the movement and the fight for the 19th Amendment—the last constitutional amendment to be ratified during Woodrow Wilson’s presidency. Join Karen Hill, President and CEO of The Harriet Tubman Home to discuss the origins of the women’s suffrage movement through the lens of pioneer abolitionist and suffragist Harriet Tubman. Discover how Tubman’s era connects to tactics used by suffragists during Wilson’s presidency.
