2018 Bird of Prey Class Series 

The Birds of Prey Class Series taught by RMRP Executive Director Carin Avila begins this September. Every class is a stand-alone, robust seminar on many different aspects of raptor biology, conservation, behavior and identification. Pick your favorite subjects, dip into something new, or take all five for the most intensive learning experience.

Each class is $60. Check out the description of each class below.

September 15, 2018 - 9am-2pm

This class explores the anatomy and physiology of raptors. How do these amazing creatures do what they do? Find out during this informative, comprehensive class. Live Educational Ambassador raptors will be in the classroom to show you their stuff in real time.

September 29, 2018 - 9am-2pm

Class 2 is a full day of learning how to identify the common species of soaring hawks (buteos), eagles and vulture that occur in Colorado. LIVE Educational Ambassador raptors will be in the classroom to help you learn the subtle differences between these (often confusing) species.

October 20, 2018 - 9am-2pm

Class 3 gives you a heavy overview of the falcon, accipiter, and  kite species of Colorado, plus learn about Harriers and Osprey that live in our state. LIVE Educational Ambassador raptors will be in the classroom to help you get your identification perfect.

November 3, 2018 - 9am-2pm

Whoooooo is that? Learn about Colorado's owls, where to find them, and how to tell them apart. LIVE Educational Ambassador owls will be a part of the classroom experience - one of a kind! This is our most popular class. Make sure to register early to get a seat!

The last class in the series tests your observation and identification skills. You will be taken on a guided tour of Northern Colorado with raptor professionals to help you ID these amazing birds on the wing!
