Breakfast Talk
3000 Miles Apart: Making Your Hobby Your Career
Nick and Robbyn grew up on opposite ends of the world, but their parents had the same message for them . . . "You have to pay the bills, you have to make a living. It might as well be doing something you love to do.” They are doing just that - illustrating books, writing and telling stories. In the breakfast session they will take you on their journey, through books, of living a life doing what they love. All attendees will receive a copy of one of their books, either Adopted By An Owl or I Love You Just Enough.
After-Breakfast Break-out Session
9:10 - 10:10 AM
The Stories Behind the Books
Gijsbert and Robbyn van Frankenhuyzen will share the behind the scenes stories of how they create their books. This funny and informative talk is geared for folks who want a little more “meat” to how their books are developed – from using real models for Nick’s illustrations to using real stories from their own life on the farm.
