2020 Ride & Walk4Art

Please join us on March 22, 2020 for Ride & Walk4Art in the beautiful California foothills in West Calaveras County. Choose from 3 bicycle rides—25-miles, 45-miles or 75-miles—or an easy 4.5-mile walk skirting New Hogan Lake.

We're expecting no more than 300 participants, making this an intimate ride with a community vibe. You'll traverse rolling California foothills along roads that rarely see cars, past scenic views of oak forests and pastoral meadows and the blue waters of three reservoirs.

All Ride4Art rides start at the Hogan Dam Reservoir Administration offices and follow the same route through the town of Valley Springs. At mile 6, the 25-mile bike ride splits off and takes cyclists through the small Gold Rush town of Campo Seco. The 45-mile course continues past Pardee Reservoir north to Harrah's new Northern California entertainment center and casino in Ione, then heads south to Camanche Reservoir, and back to New Hogan Reservoir. New this year, a 75-mile ride takes you past a rolling landscape and five steep hill climbs to the small Gold Rush towns of Paloma and Jackson. The new Metric Plus Century Hill Climbs descents have spectacular views of Mt Diablo, the Valley and the Tri-Lake area.

The Walk4Art walking path is smooth and well maintained with no steep inclines. This multi-use trail starts at the small parking area north of park headquarters. From there it travels above the water on a crushed gravel path past Wrinkle Cove, Fiddleneck, Acorn Campground, and Oak Knoll Campground

For after-ride or walk eats at the Observation Point Picnic Shelter at New Hogan Reservoir, enjoy a home cooked meal of chicken-in-a-barrel with all the fixin's while soaking in the view of New Hogan lake, the green Sierra Foothils, and, if we're lucky, a view of the snow-capped high country.
