Free Program "WWI around the World" on September 29

      A.K. Smiley Public Library continues its commemoration of the Great War with “World War I around the World”, a panel discussion of the war’s global impacts on Saturday, September 29th at 9:30am in the Assembly Room.

     Featuring historians from University of Redlands joined by Dr. Larry Burgess, the panel will include examinations of the war's cultural impact in France, Africa's role in the war and its effects on the continent, the international implications of the Mexican Revolution, the postwar creation of the modern Middle East, and how the war led to the end of the Mohonk Conferences on Arbitration.
