Venture Out June 9th-13th Wilderness Backpacking Trip 

Venture out is a program to encourage individuals to participate in wilderness backpacking-to experience the physical and mental health benefits it provides. We want to help people to not only discover the natural beauty of our country but to understand the benefits of time spent in nature and to feel the freedom of going off the grid!  

We are limiting the group to 8 participants and two leaders, because we are hiking in the Sipsey Wilderness area of Alabama.  The maximum number of people in a group is 10 for wilderness trips.  

Seth Justman is our Venture Out leader and the McDowell Outreach Specialist.  He has led many backpacking trips around the country.  Come learn from the best!  And have lots of fun while doing it.  

We will provide tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and pads, and food.  You provide hiking shoes/boots, clothes, toiltries, headlight, and a good attitude!  We will share all the details with you after you register!
