2015 Early Childhood Action Day 

Action Day gathers hundreds of Early Childhood Education professionals, parents, advocates, and supporters at the Capitol in Harrisburg to deliver the message to our state legislators that high quality early childhood education is a priority issue. Attendants of Early Childhood Action Day visit with state legislators and raise their voice at a rally in the Capitol Rotunda.

When you arrive in Harrisburg: Report to the Forum Auditorium (500 Walnut Street, Harrisburg) between 9:00 and and 9:30 a.m. and attend the Kick Off Event with Governor Wolf and Acting Secretary of DHS, Ted Dallas. Please allow enough time to get through lines and find seats. Governor Wolf will begin at 9:30 a.m. 

 NO FOOD or BEVERAGES permitted in the Forum Auditorium. 

Come tell YOUR Story...

• The children and the difference that quality early childhood programs make in their lives. 
• The teachers, staff and the critical role their skills and expertise play in quality program
• The on-going challenges (subsidy waiting lists, staff turn over, unmet needs of Keystone STARS, Head Start and Pre-K Counts)
• The successes that investing in quality produces (early brain development, school readiness, family economic success, connections to community and saving in future social costs).  

Schedule of Events for the day

9:00 to 9:30 a.m. - Arrive at Forum Auditorium, 500 Walnut Street, Harrisburg and be seated (NO FOOD or BEVERAGES permitted in the Forum Auditorium).

9:30 to 10 a.m. 2015 Action Day Kick Off Rally at Forum Auditorium with Governor Wolf and Acting Secretary of DHS, Ted Dallas 

11 a.m to 12 p.m. Your choice of...

1. Professional Development Opportunities at Pine Street Church 
2. Visit your legislator State Capitol
3. Lunch (on your own) in Beautiful Downtown Harrisburg

12:30 to 2 p.m - Early Childhood Action Day Rally on the Rotunda Lobby Steps in the Capitol Building

2 p.m. and following - visit legislators or depart for home and continue the work in your community
