The San Francisco Bay Area ITE Section will offer a one-day workshop on transportation modeling technologies.

Following the great success of our last six Annual Transportation Modeling Workshops, with participants gathered from around the world, the San Francisco Bay Area ITE is organizing the Seventh Annual Transportation Modeling Workshop on April 29, 2015. The theme of this workshop is "Modeling for Sustainable Complete Streets/Multi-Modal Transportation Planning". The objectives of this seminar are to show what innovative transportation modeling tools are available to our engineers and planners in the transportation modeling industry, and how these tools can be applied to transportation planning/engineering projects.

This year, speakers are representatives from the international transportation modeling software development industries, UC Davis, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, and many others who will talk about the current modeling development status, meso-scopic modeling, land use models linked to the transportation models, traffic control systems and the traffic data collection technologies. Some presentations were made at the last TRB conference or will be presented at the future ITE conferences.

The application areas may include:

• California SB 375 and urban/transportation planning
• Land use modeling systems
• Greenhouse gas reduction
• Travel demand forecasting methodologies
• Highway operations with meso and microsimulations
• Adaptive traffic control and ITS applications
• Modeling connected vehicles 
• Transit operations
• Data collections technologies
• Integration methodologies linking planning, design, control and management

Real applications from around the world, as well as from California, will be featured in this workshop.
