What is a Preceptor?

A preceptor is an experienced clinical practitioner who guides new employees, new graduates, and students through the onboarding and competency validation process of unique primary care clinical environments.

About this learning series:

In this series for primary care nurse preceptors, we will provide a set of tools that will serve you well as you embark on this new, expanded role! This series will be presented virtually and live in five one-hour segments. All you need is a computer with a camera and a willingness to learn in this unique fashion!

Assumption of this new role requires an additional skill set that includes refined skills in communication, feedback, support, and collaboration that go beyond current primary care clinical expertise.

Nursing participants who complete this series in its entirety will be eligible to receive 5 nursing Contact Hours.
