[Virtual] Fundamentals of Accreditation for the EMS Professions by CoAEMSP

VIRTUAL WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION & OBJECTIVES

This workshop is formally known as the CAAHEP Accreditation Workshop for Paramedic Programs.

This virtual workshop is designed to educate attendees on the 2015 CAAHEP Standards and the accreditation process, enhancing the accreditation knowledge of Paramedic program faculty. Through the use of expert presentations and interactive group learning activities, the workshop will provide best practices to avoid common stumbling blocks.

The following will be addressed:

  • Overview of the accreditation process
  • Resources
  • CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines (2015)
  • CoAEMSP Interpretations of the 2015 CAAHEP Standards
  • Site Visits
  • Site Visit Findings Letters & Progress Reports
  • Deal Breakers & Other Stumbling Blocks

VIRTUAL WORKSHOP REQUIREMENTS

There is required advanced work in preparation for the workshop; allow four (4) hours to complete the webinars and the associated assignments. The advanced study is available here. Allow four (4) hours to complete it, which can be done over a span of days.

  1. Watching six (6) webinars
  2. Completing the Scavenger Hunt (CAAHEP Standards, CoAEMSP Interpretations, policies, resources on the website) [allow 45 minutes]

  3. Completing the quiz here [allow 5 minutes]

  4. Downloading the Self-Study Report applicable to your program

  5. Writing three (3) burning questions you have regarding the accreditation process

SCHEDULE

The virtual workshop will take place on Tuesday, January 10 & Wednesday, January 11, 2023,  from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Central Time each day.

9:55 a.m. - Virtual classroom opens
10:00 a.m. - Online workshop starts
10:05 a.m. - "Doors close" to online workshop
2:30 p.m. - Closing and adjourn
  • You must be on video to recognize as attending and meet any attendance requirements set forth in the CoAEMSP Policy Manual (i.e., new program director, or a program director of a program seeking the Letter of Review).

  • No video = no credit.

  • Do not share your login information with anyone. Only the individuals registered for the workshop may attend. One attendee per registration.

TECH REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ONLINE WORKSHOP

This online workshop will use Zoom.

  • Join on a laptop/desktop, not a phone or tablet. It will make the experience better.

  • DOWNLOAD and USE the Zoom (desktop) app - https://zoom.us/download.

  • You'll need a computer with a camera and a microphone. For a more effective workshop interactions and to allow for a realistic, participatory experience, attendees must join with audio and video.

  • Connect with your computer’s audio rather than dialing in on a phone.

  • While not necessary, earphones can improve the experience.

VIRTUAL WORKSHOP REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Space is limited! The first 50 attendees to register and pay in full are guaranteed a spot. 
  • The registration fee is $200. Payment is required at the time of registration.

  • Payment will only be accepted via PayPal. (No PayPal account is required.)  

  • Registration fee must be paid at time of registration, there is no holding a spot.

  • Registration closes January 3, at 5:00 pm Central Time - or - when all seats
    have been reserved, whichever comes first.

  • Cancellations are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Any cancellations made within 14 days of the workshop will not be refunded, and cannot be applied to a future workshop.

  • Registrations are non-transferable unless there is pre-approval from CoAEMSP.
