Quality and its delivery to the patients we care for has the potential to connect the disparate dots of providers, performance, and payment across the healthcare landscape. The PQA 2017 Leadership Summit will convene thought leaders, key decision makers, and quality stakeholders to interactively and collaboratively strategize to connect the dots in the continuum of care for the patient.  During the meeting, more than 200 attendees from PQA’s diverse membership will help shape the coming year's initiatives and collaborations to ensure the continued success and advancement of meaningful and actionable performance measures that can help improve patients' health.

Keynote Address: Taking Steps to Address Opioid Overprescribing: A Surgeon’s Perspective on Creating Actionable Measures and Best Practices in One of the Nation’s Leading Health Systems  Over the summer, the White House declared the opioid epidemic as a national emergency.  One in 16 patients become chronic users, according to new research by doctors at the University of Michigan.  Even more alarming, research shows that relapse rates after opioid addiction treatment could be as high as 91%.  In addition to expanding treatment, it’s time we address the root of the problem — overprescribing.  Learn how John Hopkins Surgical Team is addressing this issue, one surgical procedure at a time, with a combination of metrics, data sharing reports assessing practice patterns and best practices among providers.
