NHSN Training Session 1: SAMS Registration - August 24

HealthInsight is conducting a 3-part webinar series to prepare the Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) Cohort of the Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative to submit reports into the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). Nursing homes must be ready to submit October data by November 1, 2016.

Training objectives:
By the end of the 3-part webinar series, participants will be able to:

Understand the purpose and importance of using the NHSN
Register individuals for Secure Access Management Services (SAMS, the credentialling process)
Enroll a nursing home in NHSN
Locate and access HealthInsight and CDC tools and resources
Enter CDI data into NHSN
Access current CDI data for self-monitoring through NHSN reports

Webinar target audience:
Any persons planning to help with NHSN data submission or analysis. We recommend at least two people from each facility be trained. Recommended positions to train:

Director of nursing
Infection control/prevention manager
Medical records person
MDS coordinator
Nurse manager
