This October, as we welcome the cooler days, the vivid blue skies and the blazing colors of autumn, we invite you to join us at our Radium Colours Artists’ Retreat!  What better time to be inspired in your artistic medium than when Mother Nature puts on her Fall show in the Rockies!

Radium Hot Springs is British Columbia’s preeminent mountain getaway Village, showcasing unlimited outdoor activities, great dining, golfing, skiing, natural hot spring pools, and the most breathtaking alpine scenery imaginable. With a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities, and the pristine wilderness in our backyard, the idea was brought forward to celebrate our vibrant Village by creating an artists’ weekend retreat. 

You have three artistic options to choose from:

This workshop is designed for beginner to advanced photographers and will give you the opportunity to spend a day shooting images of nature and fall colours in the Columbia Valley area near Radium Hot Springs, BC. You will visit 4-6 locations which have been chosen for their combination of spectacular fall colours, extensive scenic views, wildlife opportunities and ease of access.

Plein Air Painting – Hosted by Lynne Grillmair 

This workshop is designed for beginner to advanced painters. You will visit areas around Radium Hot Springs, BC that provide spectacular views of the unique Rocky Mountain Trench landscape, and the gorgeous fall colours. If inclement weather occurs, you will work from area photographs provided by the instructor.

This weekend explore the creative journey of doing your own drawings with the use of pen and watercolour into your sketchbook. Angelique,  an instructor with over 30 years experience in Calgary’s art community, will teach the techniques she uses in her own sketchbooks to enhance your confidence so that your sketches will come alive on the page.

Angelique has been a avid sketchbook journal keeper for over 30 years. She uses her Sketchbooks to record her travels, her painting process and many daily interactions in her life. She will be sharing some of her sketchbooks to guide you on the journey. In this workshop, Angelique invites you to explore some of the wonders of the Radium Hot Springs by gaining the confidence to capture its Beauty through pen and ink washes.
