GROUND

A Unique Leadership Experience

Meet us on Higher Ground!

You are invited to a unique leadership experience.

This gathering is the first in a series of 10 – one every six months for 5 years – where we gather to explore our unique edges, lean into who we are, and understand new ways to bring out our magnificence. We hope you can join us! Consider this your personal invitation to join and impact your life and world in exciting and profound ways.

Who benefits from participation in Higher Ground?

Feeling stuck?  Wondering if there is more to life but unsure how to find your way there? Maybe you’re exhausted because nothing you try works. Or, possibly life is going well but you feel something larger, more essential stirring within. You have a sense of something un-finished; impatience; a subtle sense of calling or just an abiding hunch that something important wants to happen in your life. But hasn’t yet. Or, when it does you notice that you contract in fear, unsure of what this larger presence will require of you. You are ready to loosen your own grip on life through a different kind of conversation but can’t see the way to make that happen.

If this is what you are experiencing, then Higher Ground is the place to start that new conversation.

Your trusted guides

Judy Johnson and Tomi Bryan bring the wisdom of their unique and compelling personal and professional experiences to this workshop. We come to Higher Ground not as experts or even as facilitators who speak from the front of the room but as guides who walk alongside. We understand the landscape of life, but can't predict what will happen. Thus, the focus is on leaning into and addressing whatever life brings to us with playful anticipation. Context: The First Higher Ground

I’d rather be whole than good. ~Carl Jung

Four hundred years ago, Teresa of Avila took a journey into her soul and mapped her adventure in The Interior Castle. She speaks across the centuries through author Caroline Myss saying: "Make this Castle your home, your safety net, your place of silence, your retreat. Your soul as Castle is a mystical sanctuary into which you can retreat whenever you need to gather your strength, clear your mind of debris, or regain your footing. It is an inner sanctum in which you can gain access to grace and sublime guidance."

We are like 100 room mansions but as we travel through life, we shut different doors of our interior castle, sealing ourselves off from creativity because someone said our drawing was bad. Or, sealing ourselves off from anger because someone said, “Don’t get angry.” Or, shutting the door to love because life was simply too painful. Now we find ourselves in adulthood without access to many of the rooms in our mansion. This first Higher Ground workshop is about re-opening those doors of our interior castle. It is about being whole again.

Pre-Workshop Assignments

1. Ask your boss to write down three things that are holding you back from being the best you can be. Don’t have a boss? Ask a family member, spouse or mentor.

2. Ask someone who knows you well to write down three strengths you have.

3. Bring these to the workshop.
