Photographic Portraiture: Hands-on Workshop w/ Frank Lee Roberts 

This class covers some of the basics one needs to turn their snapshots into gorgeous portraits.  Frank will cover basic equipment needed, subject isolation, lighting and other techniques, and interacting with models/subjects in this 3 hour course.  There will be a 1.5 hour lecture followed by a hands on shooting session with a male and female model.

You'll learn about:
The effects of apertures and focal lengths on your portraits. The basics of different lighting styles. How to interact with and direct models/subjects.

What you'll need:
A DSLR or interchangeable lens camera. Be generally familiar with setting exposure controls on your camera. A basic understanding of the exposure triangle (Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO). A charged battery and memory card, ready to shoot during the hands-on portion. And of course, a great attitude!

He sometimes shoots portraits, sometimes he shoots weddings and sometimes he just shoots his friends in bars. But Frank Lee LOVES it all. He has been shooting weddings,his specialty, for the better part of 3 decades.  He's never met a bride he didn't like.   Somehow he choked his way through the University of Alabama with a Business Degree right at the turn of the millennium.  He is still amazed at this. He is quite proud of the fact (and gets beat down a great deal because of) that while attending that prestigious Southern Ivy league school, he never attended a single football game.  The only thing he loves more than photography is teaching photography.  He loves to tutor and grow those around him who share the same life long passion.
