Compassion Fatigue at the Community Center of the DuPage County Health Department, April 19 at 9 AM

Compassion fatigue, or vicarious traumatization, is the phenomenon generally associated with the "cost of caring" for others. It is the result of exposure that counselors and case managers may have to clients' stories of trauma, pain and fear. Signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue will be discussed, as well as strategies to address it. Emphasis is placed on prevention, and attendees will be given an opportunity to self-evaluate their current level of compassion fatigue. 3.0 CEUs for licensed counselors, social workers and nurses.

There is a $40.00 fee, payable by credit card with E-Pay, or by check. Payment is due before the class date. Sorry - no refunds for cancellations within 48 hours of class date. Please make checks payable to: DuPage County Health Department, Attn:  Michele Piver.
