As clinicians working with LGBTQ+ young people and families, we navigate many systems with our clients. The training will provide an update on LGBTQ+ affirming terminology and current trends that LGBTQ+ youth and young adults are experiencing. Additionally, clinicians will review clinical scenarios such as preparing readiness letters for clients to access hormone therapy and gender affirming surgeries, working with diverse family systems, supporting clients at school and within other systems. Clinicians will leave with resources to utilize with LGBTQ+ youth and families.
Objectives:
-Participants will understand affirming terminology to use in a clinical setting
-Participants will practice writing letters of readiness to access gender affirming care
-Participants will leave with an understanding of resources and referrals
