Wild Mother's Day 2014

Wild Mother's Day

Fellow Mortals Wildlife Hospital presents Wild Mother's Day at Fellow Mortals Nature and Education Center (MLANEC) on Saturday April 26th, 12.00pm - 4.00pm. A great day out as an early Mother's Day gift for Mom or pick up last minute gifts in our gift shop. There will be a presentation, guided nature walks, an interactive rangers table and a gift shop packed full of wildlife-related items. Our Arts and Crafts area will provide opportunities for kids to make a small gift for Mom. There are walking trail maps available if you prefer to walk alone and scavenger hunts for children, young and old!

Enjoy a guided nature walk with one of our experienced birders and learn about the wildlife we commonly spot at MLANEC. Last year, 19 species were spotted or identified by their song. The 19 species included: Yellow-rumped warblers, Eastern Bluebirds and Vesper Sparrows.

Our presentation, 'Wild Mothers and their babies: Fellow Mortals' Foster Program' will include a slideshow and will introduce you to the fascinating world of fostering and the special animals who help us to raise orphaned wildlife. The presentation begins at 1.15pm and will last approximately 1 hour. There will be time for questions and an opportunity to meet some of our education and foster birds.

If you would like to bring a gift for our Wild Foster Mothers, please choose from the following: Pedialyte, Chlorox Wipes, Pecans, Walnuts, roasted & unsalted peanuts, borgana or gift cards to Lowes, Walmart, Target and Piggly Wiggly.

Funds raised from this event will help Fellow Mortals to care for the injured and orphaned wildlife of Wisconsin and Illinois.
