Let’s face it! Engaging parents isn’t at the top of your to-do list. Understandable. You are busy, sometimes overwhelmed.  I get it.  Parents feel the same way! In this session, learn how simple questions can lead to discovering the family genius.  When you connect to the wealth of information and resources they have to offer you might just find yourself saving time and effort.  And don’t forget…find out the 10 Things Never to Say to a Parent.  At the end of this session, you tread of parent interaction will change to excited anticipation.  Together, you will change the world for the individuals seeking a better and more meaningful life.

 

Katherine lives in Denver, Colorado and is a recognized subject matter expert by the US Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy.

She serves as a Director on the Board of the Washington Initiative for Supported Employment and Imagine Enterprise in Texas, is a co-founder of Familes at the Forefront of Technology and former organization consultant at the University of N. Colorado. She also served as Chair of the Colorado Development Disabilities Council.

Ms. Carol is tri-chair to Colorado's innovative Employment First Advisory Partnership and State Rehabilitation Council. Ms. Carol has extensive work history assisting people with IDD to secure supported or customized employment. She consults and speaks on organizational transformation and working with parents of special needs children and is the parent of Mikelle, her adult daughter with special needs.
