A Lamb Butcher Demonstration, Tasting Menu, and Beer Pairing

The second in our Butcher's Series of events, this event will feature lamb. Lamb is such a delectable meat and has a host of options for preparation.  Its versatility is overshadowed by its lack of popularity in America.  For many, preparing lamb is mysterious and preparing it well is an elusive task.  One poor choice in purchasing can be all it takes to turn one off of lamb for good.

That is the reason for this event.  It is our hope that attendees will walk away from this event with a deeper appreciation of lamb as an ingredient.  Armed with knowledge of what to look for and how to prepare this tasy meat, we hope to increase the consumption of lamb amonst our customers.  As an agricultural product, lamb and sheep provide wool, milk, cheese, and meat.  For a single animal, multiple products can be made.

It is our hope that attendees will come away from this class knowing each cut of meat and how it is best prepared.  They can expect to have 4 to 5 small plates of lamb centered dishes and a tasting flight of three beers.  The cost for the event is $35 and only 40 seats are available.

Thank you to Chef Adam Lambert for his energy on tackling this second event.  We are excited for his help in educating our customers and helping to promote the local farm economy.  For anyone not familiar with the menu and culinary team at Bar Cento, they are devoted to local ingredients and a complete, "made from scratch" menu, including their own house-cured charcuterie and sausages and house-made cheeses.

About Fresh Fork Market:  We are a weekly subscription service to local foods.  Our Farm Buying Club, similar to a CSA, is a weekly grab bag of organic and sustainably produced fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, and more, all from family farms within a 75 mile radius of Cleveland. Each week in the summer and every other week in the winter, our customers pickup their groceries from the back of a refrigerated box truck at numerous community pickup locations.  Packages start at just $25 per week and the summer season starts June 5.  Learn more at www.freshforkmarket.com
