Annual "Jazz for Dads & Grads" Recital Performance! 

Please join us to support the Jazz Arts Academy students in their showcase recital at Tim McLoone's Supper Club on Sunday evening—June 17, 2018. 

Doors open at 6:00pm and concert set to begin at 7:00pm

Admission is free. Registration is required. 

You may purchase food or drink items from the restaurant or bar beginning at 6:00pm. We encourage you to come out for dinner and a show with your family and friends to support these young musicians!

About Jazz Arts Academy

The Jazz Arts Academy is a unique program presented by the non-profit organization Jazz Arts Project in a partnership with the Count Basie Theatre.

As an organization, we are dedicated to advancing the art of jazz by presenting world-class jazz artists in performance and by providing comprehensive educational workshops, ensembles and classes for area youth throughout the year. Our youth programs fulfill this mission by providing transformative opportunities for students to participate in customized classes and ensembles. 

Students in the Jazz Arts Academy receive comprehensive training in improvisation, music theory, jazz history, and instruction tailored to their instrument. The program features group lessons, individual coaching, and listening sessions, as well as master classes with visiting artists.  Students have fun learning to improvise, improving on their instrument, performing in ensembles and meeting other young musicians in the process. 

The Academy offers a performance-based curriculum providing students with the tools, knowledge and experience in order to progress quickly and perform at increasingly higher artistic levels.
