Scooters, electric bikes, skateboards and other alternative means of local personal transportation seem to have taken over our streets.
Many of these modes of transportation are not considered "motor vehicles" or even "vehicles" under state vehicle codes and rules of the road. Consequently, they may not be covered by or may be explicitly excluded from coverage under auto and homeowners' insurance policies.
This session will explore potential liability claims arising from the use of such alternative modes of transportation, and how such claims may be handled.
