American Society of Quality Dinner Forum

Speaker Topic: "Communicating and Influencing Quality"

As quality professionals, we learn about quality tools, achieve certifications, and then what? We all go back to what we are used to do before learning new tools or methods, or developing a new procedure, or implementing a new or updated Quality Management System (QMS). Quality is still perceived of less value than we all contribute to our organizations. Why many of our proposed quality improvement related ideas get shot down for other priorities. ISO 9001 standards specify requirements for quality communication. This is a common problem we all face. Even worse, there isn’t any training or certification programs for communicating quality. What are some effective ways to communicate quality in an organization?

This month we will explore ways to communicate quality at all levels in an organization to achieve quality and business objectives. We have assembled a panel of working professionals, who have experienced in leading implementation of quality programs, policy, management systems, tools, processes and measurements. At the end of the panel, attendees will have their own ideas of communicating quality back at work necessary to identify opportunities, create a project, overcome resistance, influencing others to collaborate, and achieve your vision for quality improvement or implementing a quality process.
