American Society of Quality Dinner Forum

Speaker Topic:  Designing Quality into Medical Devices

Regardless of the industry, today’s customers demand quality in the products they buy. It’s quintessential to brand development and loyalty.

It’s no surprise then, that high Quality is paramount to Medical Devices – it helps save lives and regulatory bodies worldwide demand it as the law. According to research by McKinsey & Company, the cost of quality in medical devices could be as much as $36 billion (between 6.8% - 9.4% of sales). While one-third of this cost is an investment in ensuring good quality (through design, manufacturing etc.), two-thirds is a direct result cost of poor quality!

This interactive presentation will highlight and discuss the importance of various ‘pillars’ of Quality that should be considered during product design & development. If done right, not only would they lead to delighted customers, safer and efficient healthcare but also reduce the firm’s cost of poor quality.
