Vitality of Wellfleet's Herring Industry in the 1800's
Lisbeth Wiley Chapman, FHR Board Member, will lead this walk along the banks of the Herring River at Bound Brook Island. We will discuss Wellfleet's herring industry in the 1800's, how its profits paid for most of the town's expenses and how productive the Herring River was. Be sure to bring mosquito repellent and sunscreen. Limit 10 participants. Social distancing protocols will be observed.
