And what if you had three concentrated days in a beautiful retreat setting with someone to guide you through the process and in the company of others with which to share energy and ideas? Just imagine!

What is The Worship Design Studio Tahoe?

This is a planning retreat for worship teams that will be limited to ONLY 15 teams.  The 2008, 2009 and 2010 events sold out in quickly!  The "Worship Design Studio" Planning Retreat is where you will be guided through the entire liturgical year (starting with Advent 2011) in order to map out worship themes and general plans for each season. After three days in the company of creative people and processes, you will have a head start on plans for the kind of sensory-rich worship that touches hearts and minds, transforms lives and forms disciples for the entire year!

Schedule

Sunday evening: THE CREATIVE PROCESS AND THE LITURGICAL YEAR

(we'll lay the groundwork - a look at planning seasonally, team processes, timelines and how to get the most out of your time at this planning retreat)

Monday morning: THE ADVENT/CHRISTMAS/EPHIPHANY CYCLE

(each session will start with interesting information about the history and theology of the seasons that can inspire you for your congregation's journey)

Monday afternoon: THE LENTEN SEASON

(in each session I will also point to threads coming from my look at the lectionary for those of you who follow this structure)

Monday night: HOLY WEEK

(we will take an inspirational journey with "Egeria" - the first record of an experience of Holy Week in the early church in Jerusalem that will inspire us to make our Holy Week an experiential pilgrimage)

Tuesday morning: FREE TIME

(after four packed sessions, you'll be ready to sleep in, catch up, take a hike or you may just want to use the time continuing to plan with your team)

Tuesday afternoon: EASTER CYCLE AND THE DAY OF PENTECOST

(each session will also include sharing some of my favorite verbal, musical and visual resources with you)

Tuesday evening: THE SUNDAYS AFTER PENTECOST

(we'll look at how to manage and plan for this long season, making "ordinary time" extraordinary!)

 

Wednesday morning: CONTINUING THE PROCESS

(what to do when you go home, how to keep the creativity flowingand how to get to the nitty-gritty of detail work)

 

AFFORDABLE!

For only $500 PER TEAM, you can bring from 2 to 6 persons from your church ($250 for individuals). Housing and meals are paid separately, depending on the number of persons and rooms needed by your team ($221 total each for shared room and all meals - private rooms available for an exta fee). We start Sunday evening, Oct. 23 and conclude Wednesday, Oct. 26 at noon.
