ITALIC HAND - MAR 31 - APRIL  21

Have you always wanted to know how to improve your handwriting?
Learning the Italic-Hand gives students an edge on lettering and this form of calligraphy is a great way to express your creativity.

This class is four 2-hour sessions - with an optional Catch-up & Question session from 6:00pm - 7:00pm prior to class and 2 optional field trips.

SESSION 1 - MAR 31
Become familiar with the calligraphic broad-edge pen. Proper angles and pen grip.
Homework: Border treatments. BEG-INT students will use different pens, nib and mediums.

SESSION 2 - APR 7
Alphabet lessons - lowercase letters.
Homework: Alphabet necklace. BEG-INT students will use different pens, nib and mediums.

OPTIONAL FIELDTRIPS - APR 9 & 12
APRIL 9 - Kaligrafos, The Dallas Calligraphy Society meets 2nd Saturday of the month (APR 9), in Richardson, TX from 9:30am - 12:00pm. This month's program is on the lettering style known as Blackletter.
The Fort Worth Calligraphers Guild meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month (APR 12), in Fort Worth, TX from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. This month's program is on Pointed Pen Calligraphy - Copperplate. There is no charge for attending and there is a lot to learn and get inspired by.

SESSION 3 - APR 14
Uppercase & Punctuation lesson.
Homework: Alphabet sentences. BEG-INT students will pen a quote in a proper layout.

SESSION 4 - APR 21
Putting it all together. Spacing. Jogging and variations.

COST: $105
Includes supplies and hand-outs.

No refunds unless a wait list permits. Sorry, no exceptions. In the event of a cancellation, your class fee will be applied as credit towards another class or classes offered through Texas Lettering Arts Council.
