Cooking Locally: Aquidneck Island Food Challenge with Chef Deja Hart
From September 22-28, the Aquidneck Community Table is challenging Rhode Islanders to eat only food grown or raised locally, either on Aquidneck Island or caught in Narragansett Bay. The food challenge is a great way to demonstrate real support for farmers and the local economy. Join Chef Deja Hart for a fun and edifying evening cooking dishes using only local ingredients! Menu: Eggplant & Zucchini Croquettes with garlic-herb aioli, Chicken Involtini (Aquidneck Farms pasture raised chicken, Daniele proscuitto, Greenvale Vineyards White Wine Sauce), Blackberry-Peach Bread Pudding with Honey-Cider Sauce (Provencal Bakery Bread, Simmons Farm Eggs, Rhody Fresh Milk, Aquidneck Island Honey and Newport Vineyards Rhody Coyote Cider. We will enjoy everything we make along with a tasting of local wines.
