The Minnesota Health Action Group has a long-standing commitment to improving mental health care, most recently through its Mental Health Guiding Coalition (the “Guiding Coalition”). With mental health care delivery and outcomes significantly lagging physical health, the Guiding Coalition is focused on accelerating high-value, integrated mental health care for employees and their families, while driving positive change on behalf of all Minnesotans.
To better understand current health plan capabilities and to promote market-wide quality improvement, The Action Group conducted a special request for information and invited local health plans to participate (the “eValue8 Mental Health Deep Dive”), in collaboration with the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions.
The mental health version of eValue8 includes information across key areas in behavioral health (mental health and substance use disorder), including: Network adequacy & access; physician measurement, management & payment; pharmaceutical management; member engagement, management & support; accreditation & compliance with parity; and data analysis & reporting.
Results are now in for participating Minnesota health plans (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, HealthPartners, and Medica) and will be shared with all who are interested during a September 26, 2019, webinar.
The eValue8 Mental Health Deep Dive is:
Foong-Khwan Siew, Ph.D., M.B.A., independent health care consultant, researcher and national director of eValue8, will join Nance Lee Mosquera, employee benefits manager for the City of Saint Paul and Action Group Board member, and Deb Krause, Action Group vice president, on the webinar.
