Online CE Sanitary Surroundings for

Massage Therapists

This class will help you feel confident that you are doing everything you can to protect yourself and your clients in regards to Covid-19 and other potentially communicable diseases.  Obtain an understanding of safety and infection control procedures to follow in your practice to protect both yourself and your clients.

We’ll also discuss how to communicate with your clients before and during appointments to get them on board with participating in a sanitary service, and help build their confidence in coming to you.  We will go over types of infectious diseases, various forms of decontamination and protection, OSHA guidelines, Universal precautions, as well as a basic understanding of the laws and rules needed to abide by to work in a salon or spa that falls under Cosmetology Board Establishment licensing.

Kristen has been in the personal care and service industry since 2002, getting her start as a Licensed Stylist, Esthetician, and Manicurist. She obtained her license to teach in 2006 and taught at Mott Community College in Flint for 10 years. She is a 2012 graduate of Irene’s Myomassology Institute  where she stayed to apprentice and then assist for Randy Fillion.

Kristen has owned Balance and Beauty Collective Salon and Spa in Burton, MI since 2014 and is passionate about creating a safe space for her staff and clients in all ways, including practicing sanitation procedures that go above and beyond State Board requirements. She taught infection control and laws and rules during the decade at the college, and continues to educate her staff, assistants and apprentices to follow proper protocol.

With the increased health threat Covid-19 has brought to our industry, she hopes to help professionals confidently create sanitary spaces and follow hygienic practices as they return to serving the public.
