MNPHA is offering the Accessible Customer Service Standard Course for our members, as a self-directed course.
The Accessibility for Manitobans Act became law in Manitoba in December 2013. It establishes a process to remove barriers affecting persons with disabilities and many other citizens. The government has worked with public and private sector organizations to develop accessibility standards. One of the accessibility standards is about Customer Service, which includes all types of programs and services that can be accessed by the public. This course covers foundational knowledge for all staff and volunteers of the housing sector to understand the Customer Service Standard.

This course should take 45 to 90 minutes to complete. When it is completed, you will receive a participation certificate from Manitoba Possible, which is where the $6 fee applies ($6 includes GST). This course was developed by the Manitoba Association of Newcomer Serving Organizations (MANSO) in partnership with Manitoba Possible (previously the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities, or SMD). Manitoba Possible developed the course material, and MB Non-Profit Housing Association (MNPHA) built the course on Moodle Cloud Platform based on MANSO's learning platform.
We are planning to host the course quarterly, with a September, December, March and June intake. You will have a month to complete the course. The next intake date will be March 1, 2021.
