Psychopharmacology of Emerging Drugs with Jim Jensen, MA, QMHP, CADC II

Please join us for the upcoming training, Psychopharmacology of Emerging Drugs with Jim Jensen, MA, QMHP, CADCII on Wednesday, January 9th from 8:30am-12:00pm (registration starts at 8:00). The training cost is $60 - Includes three CEUs from ACCBO. All proceeds go towards the VOA Al Forthan Scholarship to support students who come from families impacted by addiction.

Purpose

The aim of this training is to increase the understanding of the relationship between drugs and the brain with a focus on certain emerging drugs of abuse.  In addition, the mechanism of action and characteristic effects of emerging drugs and some addiction treatment medications will be discussed.

Jim Jensen, MA, QMHP, CADC II

Jim Jensen, MA, QMHP, CADCII began working in the field of Chemical Dependency Counseling in Vancouver, Washington in 2006.  He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Oregon State University and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from National University specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Previous to his work as a counselor, Jim was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps from 2001 to 2006.  He has been teaching at Clark College in Vancouver in the Addiction Counselor Education Department for since 2009.  He teaches a wide variety of classes including Theories of Counseling, Introduction to Counseling Family Members, Law and Ethics in Addiction Counseling, Adolescent Addiction, and Psychopharmacology.  Jim is also the Clinical Supervisor at Volunteers of America, Oregon, InAct.
