AUDITION PREP & SCENE STUDY TECHNIQUES WITH B.J. WINFREY

This class is ideal for extras, models & stage actors to learn both the craft and business of Acting for film and television. Students will learn and practice the techniques and skills that agents, casting directors and directors/producers look for in film actors. This class teaches how to keep acting fun while the proper work is done. Students will learn and work on the following:

About B.J. WINFREY
B.J. Winfrey has worked as a professional actor for the last eight years. As well as appearing on stage in To Kill a Mockingbird and Neil Simon's Rumors, B.J. has worked in film, television, and commercials. His work includes roles in the award-winning African feature film Paparazzi: The Eye in the Dark; BET's Somebodies, Food Network's Good Eats with Alton Brown; and commercials for Publix, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Cox Communications, the Girl Scouts, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. In addition , he has directed numerous music videos, television pilots, industrial videos, independent films, and web series. His first optioned screenplay One Night in Vegas will be produced as a feature film for "Nollywood", the African film industry Summer 2012.
B.J. majored in Theater and Film Studies at Emory University and founded the multicultural student-run theater group, AHANA (which continues to produce plays today). He wrote, produced and directed three plays; two received awards for writing and direction. During this time, he continued to act, performing in works by Athol Fugard, Shakespeare, and Pearl Cleage. His work was recognized with induction into Alpha Psi Omega, the National Collegiate Theater Honor Society.
