Marisa M. Silveri, PhD, is Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School and Director of the Neurodevelopmental Laboratory on Addictions and Mental Health, McLean Hospital. Dr. Silveri has been studying the neurobiology of brain development and consequences of alcohol and drug abuse using preclinical and clinical models for over two decades. Her current work uses non-invasive magnetic resonance techniques to examine how the teenage brain is at risk. This includes studying the way the brain’s structure, function and even chemistry change under certain conditions, including marijuana use.
