Fashion District - Absolute Art Auction Fundraiser

Pre-event to Palm Beach Swim Week fashion shows: Join us October 25, 7-9pm at Habatat Galleries at 513 Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach for the inaugural Fashion Distircit fundraising event to support the genesis and development of the local Fashion District. For full schedule of all events and shows click here.

Along with sumptuous nibbles and drinks by Tito's Handmade Vodka, the centerpiece of this event is an absolute art auction featuring original artwork by 5 distinguished artists. 100% of the bid price will support the founding of the Fashion District in Palm Beach County. Palm Beach couture jewelry designer Idaila Baudo, who was recently named the exclusive jewelry designer for Palm Beach Swim week, is donating few select pieces with a $600 retail value. Glass artist Chadd Lacy is donating a piece of flame worked glass and metal jewelry. His work has taken him to Holland and Japan and currently his jewelry is on exhibition at Habatat Galleries. Fashion accessory designer Mercedes Bournelli custom ladies champagne clutch. 2 silk art-to-wear ladies scarves by Sharon Tateum of STScarves.

Award winning Palm Beach famed kinetic artist Elayna Toby is creating a piece especially for the auction. The piece will have a reserve price and 20% of the proceeds will support the founding of the fashion district. As is her signature, the artwork will incorporate items and related “stories of stuff”contributed by the community. Upcycled fashion accessories (including pieces by Roberto Cavalli and Versace), vintage couture, tools of the trade and more will be re-imagined into a composition that celebrates personal adornment; the blending of art and fashion.

This is part of the ongoing efforts by Lilyana Eisele, President of the Florida Fashion & Apparel Chamber of Commerce and Fusion Fashion & Art Productions in furthering the development of the local fashion industry in creating jobs, opportunities, tourism, and awareness.

This fundraiser is in conjuction with Palm Beach Swim Week fashion shows.
