Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for the Legal Profession

Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. CLEs (applied for): 1 Hour Professionalism; Plus 3 General Hours

Explore and understand how stress affects the body and mind. Learn mindfulness practices that can reduce your stress and enhance professional effectiveness – practical tools that will enrich your practice of law.

Ancient wisdom and modern medicine are blended in this workshop, creating one of the most effective programs available today for enhancing competence in the practice of law and enabling healthy living. Learn how mindfulness can:

  • Increase professional competence through better management of stress
  • Identify unique aspects of law practice that can trigger stress and how to reduce reactivity
  • Assist in dealing with professional responsibilities and ethics

This workshop is being offered to those in the legal profession (e.g., lawyers, mediators, judges, law students, legal professors, paralegals and legal support staff) and will be held at the University of Georgia’s Fanning Institute, 1240 S. Lumpkin St., Athens, GA 30602.

 The workshop will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Price: $75; Law Students - $45 (Optional: additional $5.00 for each CLE requested, due at the workshop.) Limited to 24 participants
