Indianapolis Chapter CSI February 2018 Meeting: 

Designing with Architectural Zinc

 

The Indianapolis Chapter of CSI is having its February Chapter Meeting at the Willows on Westfield on Thursday, February 15 from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

Zinc is an emerging architectural metal in the US due to its numerous benefits and ability to obtain points for LEED certification. This discussion will:

  • Walk participants through zinc's history and its uses leading up to its uses as an architectural metal
  • Showcase zinc's various capabilities and benefits for building design and aesthetics from exterior and interior applications.
  • Gain knowledge of architectual zinc's performance in teh environment as well as comparing it to other metals and buildng materials.
  • Show that life cycle benefits of architectural zinc are demonstrable and are proven to far outweigh the initial upfront costs. 
About the Presenters:

David Fryman, ACE, CSI-CDT - Architectual Consultant, Lods Architectural Products, LLC

David Fryman is a member of the Lods Architectural Products team and has been serving the commercial construction industry for nearly a decade. Formerly a science and physics teacher after college, David came back to the construction industry after moving home from Colorado where he taught. He currently serves as VP for the Construction Specifications Institute Indianapolis Chapter and holds the same position for the (CSI) Great Lakes Region. He earned his CDT in 2014 and is currently pursuing his CCCA. He has been actively involved in the ACE (Architecture – Construction – Engineering) Mentor Program here in Indianapolis at Ben Davis High School over the past 3 years. He also previously served as the Chair of the Future Leaders Committee for the Indiana Subcontractors Association and has been a registered AIA CEU provider for the past 3 years. Beyond his work with the construction community, David greatly enjoys and loves spending time with his wife Amanda who serves the Indiana Supreme Court as their Continuity of Operations Manager, and their nearly 3-month-old daughter Blaine.
