The U.S. Department of Labor- Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program (OFCCP), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs- Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E), and Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) invite you to attend a Symposium and Job Fair focused on recruiting and hiring individuals with disabilities and veterans.
The Symposium from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. is a community outreach event in the San Antonio metropolitan area to educate employers on changing recruitment and accommodation responsibilities. OFCCP will present changes to Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRRA) regulations. Partnering agencies VR&E and DARS will brief employers on the work they do to assist their client's in training and finding employment. Employers will also have the opportunity to hear client/employer success stories and participate in a Q&A session with a panel of government agency leaders.
The Job Fair from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. is open to registered employers seeking to meet or hire jobseekers including people with disabilities and veterans. There is no cost to participate in this event!!! Space is limited so we encourage you to register soon.
Links business, nonprofit, local government and community partners to increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities and educate employers on how to recruit, hire and retain employees with disabilities.
