Linda Hubbard | As the Crow Flies
Opening public reception Saturday, December 8, 2012
The Gallery at 199 Main Street, Beacon, NY
Beacon Institute is proud to open a new photographic exhibit by Linda Hubbard. As the Crow Flies presents a compelling aerial perspective of the Hudson River from Bear Mountain to Kingston through photographs captured high above from a helicopter. The exhibit runs from December 8, 2012 through March 2, 2013 at the Institute’s gallery at 199 Main Street in Beacon, NY.
The Institute will celebrate the new exhibit with an opening reception for Linda Hubbard on Saturday, December 8, from 5 – 7 p.m.
In her exhibit As the Crow Flies — inspired by the majestic Hudson River and a daughter who is a trained helicopter pilot — Hubbard travels aloft with her camera in a small helicopter, as if fulfilling a dream to fly with the birds. By taking to the sky, Hubbard finds a new perspective, allowing new questions to emerge. How are nature and man coexisting? How will they continue to evolve? How will they support each other?
