Effective Strategies in Ninth-Grade Transitions

This webinar will provide an overview of the challenge of Ninth-Grade Transitions  in the rural context as well as promising practices from a state, district, and school working to address this challenge. Attendees will be provided an overview of the ninth-grade-transition challenge as well as how the Ninth-Grade Transition impacts rural areas. 

Attendees will learn about: 1) Research on the vulnerability of students in  the critical 9^th grade year; 2) Lessons Learned from a California Department of Education study on the transition from middle school to high school; and 3) the Lakewood High School (Sampson, NC) Jumpstart to 9^th grade program.
