Melissa Goyer, CMA, Director-Accounting, Patterson-UTI Management Services, LLC
Melissa has more than 12 years experience in various managerial accounting roles and currently serves as Director of Accounting at Patterson-UTI Energy, primarily focused on accounting and financial reporting for the company's Non-North American operations. Melissa joined the IMA, Oklahoma City Chapter, Board of Directors in 2017 and currently serves as President-Elect for the 2019-2020 chapter year. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2006 and received her CMA in 2017.
Dr. Edward Walker, PhD,CPA,CMA,CIA,CFE, Accounting Professor, University of Central Oklahoma
Dr. Walker received a PhD in Accounting from the University of Houston in 1996 and is currently an Accounting Professor at the University of Central Oklahoma. His teaching areas are Cost Accounting and Intermediate Accounting. He holds CPA certifications in Texas and Oklahoma and is also a CMA and CIA. Currently, he serves as the Vice-President of Education for the Oklahoma City Chapter of the IMA. His research interests are focused on pedagogical techniques in the classroom and cost management techniques.
John Rogers, CPA, CMA, Vice President-Finance, W&W Steel
John received his Bachelors of Business Administration and Masters in Accountancy from Baylor University in 2001 and then began a career in public accounting at the Dallas office of Arthur Andersen. He moved to Ernst & Young in 2002 where he coordinated worldwide audits and interim reviews of large multinational SEC registrants and private companies, including a FORTUNE 250 technology company and a large diversified energy conglomerate. He also led large culturally diverse teams on audits of foreign private issuers during an 18-month assignment with the firm's Capital Markets group in The Netherlands.
In the fall of 2011, he joined Chesapeake Oilfield Services and led an effort to more than double the size of the accounting group in a span of eight months. John transitioned to the role of Senior Director-Finance in July 2014. He led the controls integration and GRC configuration effort for the company's SAP implementation. John moved to Tronox as the U.S. Finance Director from 2016 to 2018. He recently joined W&W / AFCO Steel as Vice President- Finance. He is also the Past President of the OKC chapter of the IMA, and serves on the Accounting Advisory Board for UCO.
