One Gallon Challenge 2011 

The One Gallon Challenge is a unique opportunity to see how far one can travel on the energy equivalent of one gallon of gasoline.  This year, we are challenging you to travel only 50  miles  from Plymouth to Boston - on a half gallon.  This challenge is about innovation as well as transformation. It is open to any kind of 2+ wheeled vehicle that can make the journey - whether it comes off an assembly line or is made in someone's backyard.

This is an informal rally.  You may travel in a convoy or do your own thing.  But you MUST record your exact miles traveled and exact fuel(s) used.

The planned route will be along Route 3 and would require your vehicle to travel at least 45 mph. 

The exact departure location is yet to be determined.  You should arrive at Boston City Hall Plaza by 3:30 pm to compare results and set up your displays. Each car will be displayed until 7 pm on Saturday along with a record of miles run, energy used, and MPGe. All cars which begin the rally are welcome at Boston GreenFest.

There is a $75 registration fee per vehicle.

Each exhibitor must take responsibility for all items and contents on display.  Displays must be supervised at all times.  Please note that overnight security is minimal.  Due to parking limitations in downtown Boston, we will provide instructions to reasonable-rate nearby garages.

WAIVER:  I, the Exhibitor, hereby release and discharge Foundation for a Green Future Inc., the City of Boston and all businesses, agencies, and other sponsoring companies and persons from responsibility from all injuries or damages suffered as a result of participation in Boston GreenFest 2011.  Additionally, I permit the use of my name and photos in all Boston GreenFest related media.

Please make checks payable to Foundation for a Green Future, Inc.   All monies received will be considered a donation to the Foundation and as such are not refundable.  Payment must be received by June 30, 2011 to have a place reserved and your vehicle's photo on our website.
