Make a Speech that Makes Your Point - 05/07/2019 - C1000

Tools to Structure Your Presentation, and Control the Narrative

Who should attend?
New or established entrepreneurs who want to address, and convince, friends, professionals, the media or the public about important subjects.

Overview

Many entrepreneurs have had the opportunity to deliver a presentation and simply not known where to start or how to go about it. Some may not feel they can write an effective speech that reaches their audience. Still others are just afraid of public speaking.

Often, not knowing how to write or deliver a presentation can result in lost business.      If you feel you need assistance in presenting to an audience, and some practice in doing so, this workshop will furnish the tools you need to format your thoughts and grab your audience.

You will have opportunity to practice writing and giving a short speech about a topic that matters to you. You’ll see that fear of public speaking will be reduced when the you are confident that you have a speech that makes an impact.

At the end of this workshop you will understand:

  • How you say something is more important than what you say!
  • What’s appropriate for one occasion, may not be appropriate for another.
  • Humor is dangerous.
  • It is easier to make someone cry than laugh.
  • You are writing to be heard, not read.
  • Forget what your English teacher said, commas are your friends.
  • Read your audience’s body language
  • Short vs. Long Sentences/Emotion & Speed vs. Boredom
  • The Power of Three
  • An aesthetic faux pas can kill the best speech.
  • Always have a Plan B
  • Be comfortable.  It’s the only way to succeed.
