A Series of 8 Financial Workshops for Women Entrepreneurs 

DURATION

  • 8-session series  
  • Each session is 2 hours
  • Two tracks are offered - based on stage of business development

EVENT OVERVIEW

  • Would you like hands-on guidance in your personal and business finances?   
  • Are you a business startup and need help preparing your budget and financial projections? 
  • Are you an established entrepreneur that wants to know what reports to review regularly to determine profitability and increase your control?  

This intensive 8-session interactive workshop series will build your financial literacy and help you set your business on a more secure financial course.

To make sure you get the appropriate experience, the group will be divided into two tracks, based on current business status.

Money 101:  For “Startup” entrepreneurs who are developing a business plan and do not have prior sales and financial records.

Money 201:  For “Established” entrepreneurs who have generated income from clients/customers consistently and have a past financial track record to review. 

MONEY 101 - WHAT YOU WILL LEARN DURING 8-WEEK SERIES
At the end of this 8-week series, you will have the knowledge
and resources to:

  • Prepare a personal cash budget and personal financial statement
  • Analyze a tax return, know the source information, calculate marginal and effective tax rate, understand how to project estimated tax
  • Be ready for financing, review credit reports, learn lenders evaluation criteria, and list steps to restore credit score if needed
  • Determine your revenue Model, business startup costs and pricing 
  • Understand Expenses, fixed and variable, determine your break-even point
  • Formulate the financial section of a business plan
  • List the financing options appropriate to your business needs and the documents needed to prepare a successful funding package

how they affect cash flow

Instructors:

Diane Drey

Diane was formerly CEO of a New York Metro bottled-water manufacturing and distributing company. Her expertise is in financial planning and marketing. She light-heartedly calls herself the "Money Lady" and focuses on business owners achieving profitability.

 

Aida Kalla

Senior executive in global corporate finance with major international banks in the US/ overseas. Owner of own financial restructuring consulting firm. Expert in helping companies funds their growth strategies and reorganize their business structures. Experience in business plans, accounting, and financial analysis, including budgeting and forecasting.

Leena Parikh  

Leena’s engineering and finance background has equipped her with an analytic and quantitative mindset for business process improvement and solving business problems. She worked as a Director in a Fortune 100 credit card company in areas of pricing strategy, small business underwriting and risk management. Received her MBA in Finance from NYU's Stern School of Business.
